Hot Ice Girl - The Entrepreneurial Goddess

Geisha Diaries caught up with Hot Ice Girl, the goddess extraordinaire behind Hot Ice Project. We were more than impressed with her Project, what it stands for and the uniqueness of the concept. Naturally, this led to our curiosity about who she is and what she stands for.

Meeshee, Publisher for Geisha Diaries

Q  The name is brilliant. Why Hot Ice?

A. The name represents everything that we women are - fire and ice; stability and ability to change the mind without any warning; the warm embrace of a woman in love and the cold stare of a woman whose heart was broken.

Q. On your website you use the word "Project". What does it mean?

A. Hot Ice Project is more than just a blog, on-line store or message board. We are still taking our first steps but are gaining a better understanding of how to reach our desired goals. The objective is to create America's first, interactive, online portal for women who are not afraid of their sexuality; women who celebrate the fact that they are indeed different than men. Too often, we are told that as women we should aspire to achieve equality with men. Did you ever hear any culture refer to Earth or Nature as "father"? No, it is always Mother or Goddess. Different does not mean unequal. As people we all have the same rights when it comes to employment, medical care, etc. But to say that we are the same would be a mistake.  One of the goals of Hot Ice Project it to celebrate and address our unique needs and interests as women, not to emulate what men have created for themselves.

Q. Is there any particular segment of women whom you are trying to reach? Do you have any programs that benefit sex workers?

A. Yes and no. Every woman, regardless of her age, social status or marital status will always be that of daughter, sister, mother, or lover. We sometimes think that we are different, but put two women together of various ages or cultural backgrounds and within 2 minutes they will find something in common.  We do not speak to only one demographic of women, but rather tailor our various programs based on various segments. For example, we set up a HIPA program (Hot Ice Project Affiliates) to help women who work in the adult industry. These women have very unique needs that we have to take into consideration, such as:

  • Anonymity - Any woman who has her own website can sign up with HIPA using her alias. The program allows her substantial savings on all her orders or will generate additional income in the form of commissions.
  • Tailored Product Line - We interviewed a number of women in the adult industry and came up with a "goody bag" idea.
  • Group Savings - We are talking right now with organizations like SWOP USA and discussing group discounts on purchases.
  • Employment Verification and Health Benefits - Every sex worker we spoke to talked about the same problem – a gap in employment verification. Years ago, housewives came up with AVON. Months ago we came up with HIPA (Hot Ice Project Affiliates).

Q. So what inspired you to start this project?

A. I call it the "light bulb" moment. For years I've been involved in various aspects of the financial services industry and to be honest, have never felt happy. There is a constant feeling that I am playing a game where all other players set up their own rules long before I got involved. And these players happened to be named Chip or Brad and usually have roman numerals after their names. In January I was visiting my boyfriend in Las Vegas and out of idle curiosity I attended the AVN Expo. This is where I realized that the entire adult novelty industry is run by men, marketed by men and for men, just like the financial services industry with which I am accustomed. While I don’t expect to change the way Morgan Stanley runs its business, I think I can actually make a difference in the arena of adult novelties. What I had not realized though is how quickly one can become a persona non grata for banks, insurance companies and Google. Apparently, female-owned companies publishing articles on various aspects of a healthy sex life and selling tampons and condoms is considered undesirable by these establishments. But if anything, it deepens my investment in this project on very personal level.
