Decent movie, but not worth recommending due to its many flaws. But the rest of it, especially the Dana Gould part, still is leaving me Unsatisfied. Horror takes a left turn in this indie-film anthology of scary stories on the open road, Chad Villella, left, and Matt Bettinelli-Olpin in 'Southbound.'. But the film is really trying to leave a lot of the details up to the audience (which i find quite fun because it makes you really think more afterwords).

We trust our audience is smart and savvy and will bring their own ideas to it. Next up is Siren, Roxanne Benjamin’s directorial debut (she worked as a producer on V/H/S). Of course, every omnibus has its ups and downs: Patrick Horvath’s “Jailbreak” introduces a bedraggled road warrior as he searches for his long-lost sister, but some egregiously undercooked supernatural elements keep his story stuck in neutral. After he performs the surgery, he drops his phone to the ground. THANK YOU. But the less successful shorts in Southbound’s latter half don’t tank the film because of the overall thematic and visual through line. I wish the acting was a little stronger and the script a little better in a few of the stories but this is a solid watch that I enjoy very much. What was the hardest part of making southbound? All are different and yet connected, and by the end of the trip, all will … And today might just be the day you finally outrun those wicked demons once and for all.…. A few brief notes: Story One: Two men on the run from their past- Feels very christian-y but nope I'm wrong about that. The gravel-voiced DJ on the radio dedicates the next song directly to them: "This one is for all you lost souls racing down to redemption, and all you sinners running from your past by heading straight into that pit of darkness up ahead."
What V/H/S 3 should've been. I'm baffled as to why this film has an 81% approval rating or why people here in the comments as well seem to like it. New comments cannot be posted and votes cannot be cast. Two low-rent criminals, covered in blood and frantic with regret, speed down a purgatorial stretch of desert highway. It was literally one of the worst piles of shit I've seen in a long while. I'll definitely check it out!

The film is about as accurate a rendition as I could ever hope for! Just saw this. I loved this movie. They don’t always explain what is happening, just a “Here you go” feel to it and I liked that. And to say "it's about hell" doesn't ring true either:so the guys who rescued the abducted girl go to hell cause they kill the abductor?
